A little R&R!

Sunday is a day of rest....aptly named because I am in desperate need of a rest day. In P90X2, there are two days devoted to rest. You do a Recovery and Mobility, which is basically stretching and such. It's nice!

So, without any hard workouts to eat up my calories, it will be a light calorie day, sticking to 1400 calories. For breakfast, I had a smoked salmon and egg white bagel. The total calories was 295, 12 g of fat (which is alot, but I'm indulging today a bit), 26 carbs and a whopping 22 grams of protein! It was delicious, needless to say, and my treat for the day.

End of Week 1

So it's the end of week one with P90X2. Today was the Balance & Pow...er...uh, yeah. So, whatever strength I had left at the end of this week - this workout sucked it down like an Electrolux! I did all 60 minutes, but completed about 90% of it. There was just some moves I couldn't manage past a few, but I tried anyway! Very hard Core workout with the balance ball. Definitely the hardest of the workouts. But - I burned 645 calories which meant that all the food I ate prior was eliminated. So I had steak and lobster for dinner! :)

My entire core is sore, especially the upper part of my abs, around to my sides and back. My butt is sore, my legs are tired and my shoulders are tired. On top of the P90X2, I've also been doing Turbo Fire HIITs every other day, including the 15 min and the 20 min. I'm adding in the extra cardio in the mornings to help boost my metabolism and keep my heart rate high throughout the day. All in all, I'm very pleased and happy with week 1!

Only 2 months and 3 weeks to go!

My life With P90X2

It's another one! You've seen the infomercials, heard all the testimonials, etc. with regard to P90X. Well, I've done it. I have to say that when I followed the program a few years ago, I lost weight, fat and inches. I just didn't follow through and stick with it for 90 days. I'm sure I would've looked like that woman with the tiny waist, with her abs outlined in rock hardness in her skinny jeans. As it is, I have a layer of flubber that will keep me warm through the winter.

Only...now it's springtime. I have to do something or else I'm doomed to look like a popped can of biscuits...ugh. Who wants to look like that? So, for Christmas, I got P90X 2 so I could work out in the springtime and be ready for summer.

This is my journey.....

Week One is almost through and I have to say I'm stoked! I love the workouts, love the energy, even the soreness. I know how to eat healthy, I've been doing it for years, revamping, tweaking and reworking my diet to tailor to my specific needs. Read my Facebook posts for a more accurate view of this last week as to what I've been eating and the workouts.

It's hard work, but I'm determined to stick through the 90 day plan, eat healthy, no cheating or eating foods that while may not be unhealthy, just won't help my workout needs. In 2 months and 3 weeks, I hope to look and feel completely different!
